When you take a deeper perspective at things, the high-performance SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) market didn’t really exist just a few years ago. It all started with the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and later by the BMW X5 M. The lower SUV from Munich is considered by many as the most performance oriented SUV available on the market today. Yes the Alfa Romeo Stelvio posted somewhat better Nurburgring times – if that gets your juices flowing – but both the GLE63 AMG and the X5 M still rule the high-performance SUV market.
Overall, the power levels that allow rumbling SUVs to achieve performance levels which, up until recently, were reserved only for high-performance coupes and sedans, making it one of the fastest road cars out there. The X5 M is powered by a 4.4 liter V8 TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 575 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. In turn, the power produced by the engine allows the all-wheel drive BMW X5 M to accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 4.0 seconds. Top speed is – electronically limited – a blazing fast 155mph (250km/h).
While the BMW X5 M comes with impressive looks straight from the factory, some owners like to tweak the visual aspect of their cars. Hence, on cue, the aftermarket industry steps in. This particular Melbourne Red BMW X5 M comes in a rather clean format, but it features some simple, yet elegant aftermarket touches. In turn, these really transform the vehicle in a subtle way. The X5 M at hand is accentuated with a set of aftermarket wheels, carbon fiber trim pieces, and an aftermarket exhaust system.
The wheels come sized 22×10 in the front and 22×12 in the rear. With a custom Crystal White finish, they look great with the Melbourne Red finish of the vehicle. Check out the complete media gallery of this project right below.
